BMG LABTECH announces the shipment of the new multifunctional microplate reader PHERAstar. The PHERAstar is the latest development of the highly successful microplate reader star-family. The PHERAstar is designed to provide significant improvements in sensitivity and read-time in every plate format up to 1536-well plates and all leading non-radioactive detection modes: fluorescence intensity (including FRET), time-resolved fluorescence (including HTRF®), high-end fluorescence polarization, luminescence and AlaphaScreen™. The PHERAstar utilizes a unique application specific optical module design combined with a lens based dual channel photomultiplier system for simultaneous dual emission at any desired wavelength to provide outstanding sensitivity and accuracy in fluorescent and luminescence assays. The simultaneous measurement minimizes the read-time for new sophisticated applications like HTRF® and FRET assays and those using ratiometric fluorophores.
